My first attempt at the yellow rose . . . I feel like I got too busy with the bowl . . . one of my goals is to learn to simplify . . . I'm fairly happy with the results nonetheless . . .

Peony 4 (#25)

This is the 4th and last of my current Peony series . . . tomorrow I begin with a yellow rose . . . have learned a lot with the peonies . . . most importantly, that I can define the flower with shapes of color, rather than line . . . in this image, I like the way the light hitting the leaf worked out . . .

I've been out of pocket for a week, working on the preliminaries of buying a condo . . . still have a lot of hurdles to cross, but I hope the end result will be a small condo in the Va-High neighborhood of Atlanta, GA . . . I'll keep you posted . . .
